I've recently come to terms with the fact that I need to do something about my upper lip hair. It's not terrible but of course it is more noticeable than I feel it be "lady-like".

Anyways, I've been browsing the options, but I'm still curious as to what's more common between bleaching or waxing (and I hear people thread their upper lips too) ?

Any input/stories would really help!

While I was browsing for a proper subject for our upcoming fall series from AA / Esky, I thought of doing something different. Instead of going right away from our summer articles of interest to the fall ones, I thought maybe I should touch on a few other topics that may be of interest to you and that haven’t been covered before. So keeping that in mind I decide to start with footwear or shoes. I had the original text for an amazing article that appeared in AA spring of 32 (the 2nd issue of AA)! To my joy not only I had the full text from it but it was thoroughly a fun read. This again never made it to Esky…way too much detailed plus Esky didn’t even started till fall of 33’.

This article (presented below) will take you “behind-the-scenes” of shoe industry of that time. You will see the dynamics and evolution of incoming styles. Plus, I hope it will make you smile many times when you are reading it. Mainly because it addresses some truly unique issues that are never even though of anymore, and the best part is…it is Not addressed to the public But to the actual industry. The writers are AA (A. Gingrich’s crew) & their audience is the retail shoes industry of early 30s. Note the origin of many styles as they discuss in it and how these styles were being reported to the sellers.

OK. I’ll admit it. I’m lazy. Well, at least when it comes to shoes. I’ll take a well-designed slip-on over a tie-up any day. Sure it only takes a few seconds to lace up your kicks, but time is money. Right?

I also want a shoe that provides a good feel and feedback when I’m driving a car “in a spirited manner,” which in my case is most of the time. Oh yeah, it has to be stylish too. Is that too much to ask?

Several years ago I stumbled upon a cool little company named Piloti. What does Piloti mean? In Italian (it’s sounding good already) it roughly translates into 'racing driver.’ You see where this is going?

Actually, I’ve been a fan of Piloti shoes ever since having purchased their trademark DTM Shoe to use as my autocross footwear of choice. The DTM is not your everyday sneaker. It’s designed as a track-capable shoe and has such racewear features as real Nomax fire-retardant lining and a reinforced lateral part of the right side of the right shoe to stand up to repeated heel-toe pedal work. What I soon realized, though, is that they were comfortable enough to wear anytime.

But, before I get to their latest creation, let me tell you a bit about the man behind Piloti.

Kevin Beard was an avid sports car enthusiast that couldn’t find a proper everyday performance driving shoe. So, he decided to design one himself. What made his idea a reality and not just a lark was that Mr. Beard was already a successful footwear designer who had worked for a few familiar companies. Do Adidas, Reebok and K-Swiss ring a bell? In other words, this guy knows shoes.

Recently, to broaden their product mix and allow more people to get in on the action, Piloti has come out with a line of lower priced touring shoes. These are shoes that you can wear every day, that would be great on a cross-country road trip, or that can even serve as your dedicated autocross or track day shoes. Plus, they don’t cost any more than anything you’d find at the athletic store at the mall.

The newest shoe in their line-up is the Spyder. What’s cool about this shoe is its slip-on/nylon snug lace system. It goes on with the speed and ease of your favorite jungle moc, yet once on provides the snug and safe fit of a lace-up. I’ve been wearing these shoes for a couple of weeks now, and they are great.

The first thing you notice about any Piloti when you pick it up is the quality of material and construction. The Spyder is no exception. The suede construction and heavy-duty stitching provide for a very durable and long lasting shoe.

1. Moisturize your hands
Don't forget to use a moisturizer. Bring with you your moisturizer. When we wash our hands, the moisturizer you have used is also washed off. Re-apply the product after washing your hands. Choose something that contains wrinkle-removing ingredients such as CynergyTK, Phytessence Wakame and Nano Lipobelle HEQ10.

CynergyTK is an ingredient gotten from sheep wool. Sheep wool grows so fast because of its natural functional keratin component. This is also the same protein that can help regenerate collagen and elastin in the body. When collagen and elastin re-grows, our skin gets back its youthful elasticity and resilience. Phytessence Wakame also helps by preventing the loss of hyaluronic acid. This is the acid that supplies moisture to collagen to lessen the damages inflicted to it. Nano Lipobelle HEQ10 is an antioxidant that can help you combat harmful free ranging radicals. This antioxidant has smaller molecular structure compared to other antioxidant so it can better penetrate the various layers of your skin. These are the ingredients you should be looking for.

2. Use mild detergents and dishwashing liquids
Pick detergents and dishwashing liquids that contain natural ingredients as well. These are less harsh on the weak skin of your hands. It also helps to wear gloves when hand washing some of your stuffs or doing your weekly cleaning task.

3. Do not smoke
The smoke coming from cigarettes is absorbed by the dermis of your hands. This smoke contains nicotine. This is a substance that can impair our body's ability to produce Vitamin A. We need this Vitamin for skin tissue repairs.

4. Apply sun screen
Since we use our hands daily, it also gets exposed to UV rays daily. UV rays have bad effects to our dermis tissues when exposed in a prolonged period of time. It can literally break down collagen components thereby accelerating the aging process. But putting sun screen on your hands can deflect these UV rays. This can help prevent the appearance of more wrinkles on hands.

Dog training can take many different forms however two of the most common forms are obedience training and crate training. The goal of these forms of training is to address underlying behaviors in the dog to encourage them to do more of the behaviors the owners want and less of the behaviors the owners don't want. Common areas of dog training will key on housebreaking, responsiveness to commands, barking, socialization, and more. The goal through any dog training is to develop the dog in such a way that they respond to the master and still have high self esteem.

The two methods used regardless of the underlying dog training type will always be positive and negative reinforcement. The goals of these two methods are too encourage a certain type of behavior with positive reinforcement or discourage a certain type of behavior with negative reinforcement. By combining the two methods, you can also develop a synergistic effect where you are able to replace bad behaviors with good ones and even have the opportunity to build on prior training to achieve more advanced training.

Another key aspect that is important to understand regardless of which form or method of dog training is used is the importance of consistency in application. Dog owners must train their dogs over and over again each day to get the best results otherwise they risk the dog being unable to appreciate the purpose of the training. However, by doing it daily, the dog can recognize what is considered bad behavior and stop doing it or continue to do the good behavior. After some time, the need for daily training can be decreased and only needs the occasional refresher training. Of course, many dog owners will also build on their existing training to develop further skills in their dogs too.

Vitamin D is an essential vitamin to maintain good health. According to Wikipedia, "Vitamin D regulates the calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood by promoting their absorption from food in the intestines, and by promoting re-absorption of calcium in the kidneys, which enables normal mineralization of bones." If you are taking a calcium supplement it is vital that you make certain that your calcium is fortified with Vitamin D. Vitamin D aids in calcium absorption. If your calcium does not contain Vitamin D you should take a supplement with Vitamin D along with your calcium.

You can also get Vitamin D from sunlight. If you live in northern latitudes where there is less sunlight it is recommended that you take 1000 IU of vitamin D during the fall and winter months. At latitudes below 30E where sunlight and day-length are more consistent, vitamin D supplementation may not be required.

Vitamin D deficiency can lead to bone disease. Rickets is a childhood disease characterized by impeded growth, and deformity, of the long bones. Osteomalacia is a bone-thinning disorder that occurs exclusively in adults and is characterized by proximal muscle weakness and bone fragility. Osteoporosis is a condition characterized by reduced bone mineral density and increased bone fragility. Obesity can increase your risk of Vitamin D deficiency.

Foods rich in Vitamin D include:

* Fish liver oils, such as cod liver oil, 1 Tbs. (15 mL) provides 1,360 IU

* Fatty fish species, such as:

o Herring, 85g (3 oz) provides 1383 IU

o Catfish, 85g (3 oz) provides 425 IU

o Salmon, cooked, 3.5 oz provides 360 IU

o Mackerel, cooked, 3.5 oz, 345 IU

o Sardines, canned in oil, drained, 1.75 oz, 250 IU

o Tuna, canned in oil, 3 oz, 200 IU

o Eel, cooked, 3.5 oz, 200 IU

* One whole egg, 20 IU

To maintain good health make sure you get the right amount of Vitamin D.

What is Heartworm Heartworm disease is a serious and probably lethal condition due to parasitic worms living in the arteries of the lungs and sometimes in the right side of the heart of dogs, cats and other species of mammals, including wolves, foxes, ferrets, sea lions and [ in rare instances ] humans. As nematodes [ roundworms ] and are filarids, one of many species of roundworms. Dogs and pussies of any age or breed are at the mercy of infection. What Are the evidence of Heartworm Disease?

For both dogs and cats, clinical evidence of Heartworm disease may not be recognized in the early stages, as the number of Heartworms in an animal tends to accumulate gradually over a period of months and sometimes years and after repeated mosquito bites. Recently infected dogs may exhibit no signs of the disease, whilst heavily infected dogs may at last show clinical signs, including a mild, persistent cough, reluctance to move or exercise, fatigue after only moderate exercise, reduced appetite and weight reduction. Chronic clinical signs include vomiting, gagging, difficulty or rapid breathing, sleepiness and weight loss.

Signs associated with the first stage of Heartworm disease, when the Heartworms enter a blood vessel and are carried to the pulmonary arteries, are commonly mistaken for feline asthma or allergic bronchitis, when in truth they are basically because of a syndrome newly outlined as Heartworm Associated Respiratory Disease [ HARD ]. How does one Detect Heartworm Disease? Heartworm infection in allegedly healthy animals is generally detected with blood tests for a Heartworm substance called an "antigen" or microfilariae, although neither test is consistently positive till about 7 months after infection has took place. Heartworm infection may also often be detected through ultrasound and/or x-ray images of the heart and lungs, although these tests are sometimes employed in animals already known to be infected. Heartworm prevention is safe, straightforward and inexpensive.

There's no effective treatment for Heartworm disease in pussies, so it is imperative that disease prevention measures be taken for cats. All of these methods are extremely effective, and when administered correctly on a timely schedule, Heartworm infection can be completely prevented. These medicines interrupt Heartworm development before adult worms reach the lungs and cause illness. Treatment Sometimes , all but the most advanced cases of Heartworm disease can be successfully treated in dogs.

Moggies have proven to be more resistant hosts to Heartworm than dogs, and frequently seem to be able to lose infection spontaneously. Unfortunately, many cats have a tendency to react severely to the dead worms as they are being cleared by the body, and this may lead to a shock reaction, a potentially terminal situation. When the dog is sent home, exercise should be limited to leash walking for the period of the recovery period, which can last from 1 to 2 months. This decreases the risk of partial or complete blockage of blood flow through the lungs by dead worms. Re-infection during treatment is prevented by administration of a Heartworm preventive. These preventives may also eliminate microfilariae if they are present. Dogs in heart failure and those with caval syndrome need special attention.
